Toyota starters motor is made up of a 6 parts: main housing (the yolk), overrunning clutch, armature, field coils, brushes, and solenoid. Besides ignites the engine, the starter also works as a generator by store up energy for next time usage while driving. A defective starter can cause the vehicle to have dead cranks where the only response is a clicking noise. A defective starter may make it very hard for the engine to crank on.
